Admission requirements You must be 17.5 years of age You must have some basic English skills You will take a placement test at the beginning of the term to determine your starting level.Examine the English literature of the world from a variety of critical standpoints. Research the interactions of literary, political, economic, and intellectual culture. Gain a broader understanding of writing. Write poetry, fiction, and drama. Edit literary works and journals. Explore timely and important issues through different media platforms.Non-direct programs require previous university study and cannot be applied to directly from high school. Please refer to your chosen graduate program. Canadian applicants are generally not required to provide proof of language proficiency. All other applicants for admission to the College of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies are required to present proof of proficiency in English.
Normally the Department of English expects higher than the minimum language requirements set by the College of Graduate Studies and Research. If your academic preparation is judged not equivalent to the University of Saskatchewan M.A., you may be recommended for admission to the M.A., or as a conditionally qualified Ph.D. student.
